Sunday 6:30 AM

I had been hoping to arise much easier.

As it is, it doesn’t look like I’ll make it to the 9:00 AM Mass.  I have a 7:00 AM Class. Toronto.

Here is a movie poster I asked the AI to make.

Tuesday 9:07 PM: Details

The clouds is pretty. Doesn’t you all think?

I have been getting strange service recently.  Things are happening that make me feel like I’m back in China where being misunderstood was the rule for me. But every time now in Canada, it seems when I make an order or try to empty myself of small change, I am misunderstood or I can’t understand the clerk.  Every time, they ask me my name at a restaurant so I can pick up my food order when it’s ready, I spell my name only to have it completely misspelled on the receipt.  My name has been spelled Kaulois or Anois.  Or details of my order are misunderstood.  I recently ordered pizzas for pickup, only to find the order filled wrong when I arrived for pickup. One of the pizzas I asked for was somehow not put on the order.  An even more disconcerting thing is the lack of arithmetic skills on the part of cashiers.  Today, I had to pay 25.75 for a purchase.  I gave the clerk 40.75 because I only wanted bills for change and because I wanted to get rid of my loose change.  (I also didn’t have a five) The clerk seemed stumped by the math required.

I went for a walk this evening.

The details.

And here is a photo of a back lane:

Earlier today, I taught online:

Friday 4:01 PM

I wanted Egypt to beat Australia.

I want Morocco to beat Canada.  I talked to someone with Moroccan connections this morning.

Thursday 9:54 PM

My Brazil student was a no show.

Here are some AI images I made for Ray Pero:

What kind of man will feel depressed at being idle? There is nothing finer than to be alone with nothing to distract you.

If you follow the ways of the world, your heart will be drawn to its sensual defilements and easily led astray; if you go among people, your words will be guided by others’ responses rather than come from the heart. There is nothing firm or stable in a life spent between larking about together and quarrelling, exuberant one moment,

aggrieved and resentful the next. You are forever pondering pros and cons, endlessly absorbed in questions of gainand loss. And on top of delusion comes drunkenness, and in that drunkenness you dream.

Scurrying and bustling, heedless and forgetful – such are all men. Even if you do not yet understand the True Way, you can achieve what could be termed temporary happiness at least by removing yourself from outside

influences, taking no part in the affairs of the world, calming yourself and stilling the mind. As The Great Cessation and Insight150 says, we must ‘break all ties with everyday life, human affairs, the arts and scholarship’

Coffee with Ray

Raymond topped me into taking him to the pharmacy. I don’t know what that is about.

Having a senior’s coffee at McDonalds.

And wouldn’t you know there was a table of seniors there.

I told Ray that he should end his life by being a saint.  He replied that he just wanted to be a good and humble guy; not a saint.  Aha! I said. He did want to be a saint.

Wednesday of the Second Week of Lent

Minus 13 or so out there.

Yesterday afternoon after having coffee with this guy:

I drove the KIA Sportage here;

It’s on Brandon’s North Hill.  Hanbury hill I think it is called.

I have been hired to be a sub teacher in the Brandon School Division.  I’m currently in the onboarding process.  I’m waiting on some documents.

I am reading differing opinions on whether Trump’s decision to attack Iran is justified: all from opinion makers I like. All I can do is hope that this conflict can end quickly, and the commentators who doubt the wisdom of the attack while at the same time hoping they are wrong are proven wrong.  It does seem a lot like the attack on Iraq in some ways.

Coffee with Ray

I had coffee with Ray on his birthday, so he had to have coffee with me on mine.

As Yogi Berra said, if you don’t go to other people’s funerals, they won’t go to yours.

Tim Horton’s on the Trans Canada

Buddy Ray and I had coffee at Tim Horton’s near the intersection of Brandon’s 18th street and the Trans Canada Highway.

The place was full of old retirees and Indian staff.

Ten Hours Aho

We dropped off Jenny at the Airport. Ten hours later, she’s still on the page.
