Hudson’s Bay Store: Downtown Winnipeg

At least, it was the Hudson’s Bay Department Store.  The building has been given to the indigenous people.  It was a grand place in its time.

I used to work there in the 1990s.

Polo Park

 We’re just looking.

A lot of people with empty lives.

Winnipeg Wednesday Evening

 Tracks.

Sidewalks

My Brother’s house:

There in lives a crazy woman who won’t leave and whom can’t be made to leave by the authorities.  The police are no help.

Pembina Highway bike path. Rather pathetic actually.

 Osborne Street..

This place is only open Mondays.

The next three pictures were taken around the Goldeyes’ Stadium

Winnipeg

Waiting for Jenny’s plane to land.

Or am I in Australia?

Nice sentiment.

In Winnipeg

My son Tony & I are in Winnipeg.

My wife is in Vancouver.

We’ll all be together after midnight.

Coming into Winnipeg, we drove along Roblyn Boulevard. The Assiniboine was high but not that high.

Downtown Winnipeg Photos

 I took these on Monday.

This photos were taken on Portage Avenue where I saw an old Chinese man busking.  He was playing an erhu.

I tried to talk to him.  My ice breaker was to ask if he was playing an erhu.  My attempt at speaking Chinese was not understood.  I gave him some change.

On the Manitoba Legislature Grounds

Monday, my son & I were at the Manitoba Legislature grounds.

Who’s this guy?  Why did they honor him?

The view from the front steps of the building.

My First Time to the New Winnipeg Jets Arena

I have no idea what the corporate sponsored name of the place is.  I went to it to see a Winnipeg Sea Bears game.

My impression of the new arena? Nice and modern.

Bison

Bison once roamed the Manitoba plains in great abundance.  Not anymore.  Still, they are the symbol of Manitoba.

I saw some bison statues and some real bisons at Winnipeg’s Assiniboine park.

The artwork on the statue was done by a granddaughter of my cousin.

Ten Hours Aho

We dropped off Jenny at the Airport. Ten hours later, she’s still on the page.
