Lima and Vilnius

It was my first time, this morning, to talk to someone in Lithuania and to someone in Peru.

In Peru, it’s Winter. Although their current temperature is about the same as Brandon’s.  It is supposed to be Summer in Brandon.  This morning, I had to pull my seat pants out of the attic where I had them stored for Summer.

 Very unsettled weather today.

Saturday 4:28 PM

A day when you don’t have to work is great: it doesn’t matter what season it is.  Be that as it may, I don’t like this day’s summer weather.  It is too hot to be out in it.

Huge Forest Fires in Ontario.  They are not being caused by Climate Change. Forests just got to be on fire to rejuvenate.  And this year there is so much of them on fire that even if Canada had competent governments — which it doesn’t— the fires are just on too huge a scale for even the best forest management to deal with them.  So both the environmentalists and Trump are wrong.  Politics ruins everything.

Examination of conscience: a daily task. Book-keeping is never neglected by anyone in business.

And is there any business worth more than the business of eternal life?

When their religious depth vanishes, things become

mere transparent surfaces behind which nothingness

can be discerned.

Monday 6:43 PM

It is hot in Brandon.

How hot?

Today, I talked to Spain. Heck, even some pretty Senioritas.  Earlier, I talked to Wuxi.

I then drove to the valley to see the Assiniboine River.  Boy! She’s high! I tell ya!  But the 18th street road and the Correll Centre are not impacted thanks to the dyke that was built blocking the Grand Valley Road

And speaking of Senioritas, my wife’s plane will land tomorrow midnight at the Winnipeg Airport.  Tony & I will drive to Winnipeg tomorrow morning.

Monday 5:36 AM

 It rained overnight.

It’s thunder storming now.

Rain not welcome at this instant in history.  There are already floods.

Tuesday 7:25 AM

 A lot happening.

There was all the rain yesterday.

There were those World Cup games.

The people I was teaching to and I was teaching English with had a rupture, overnight my time.  I learned about it this morning from one side.  Now, I have to hear the other side of the story.  I’m stuck in the middle again….

Tuesday 5:25 AM

We got about four inches of rain last night.  Lots of photos and videos of flooding around Brandon:

This was some flooding a block from my Mom’s house.

The basement is okay now.

Sunday 5:32 AM

It rained last night. Surely, you realize by looking at the photo.

Today, an easy morning. I start a fund raising shift at 10:00 AM at a place close to here.

It rains in summer as well as winter.

 Was is there to say?

Rain, rain, rain. Go away!

I want to sleep!

I got things to put off doing.

Friday 4:19 PM

The weather has annoying quality to it.  It must have started and stopped raining at least ten times today,

Thursday 10:43 AM

Boy is the weather unsettled.  I looked out the window and saw a bright blue sky.  I look out now and see gray cloud with spots of blue.

Change of weather is the discourse of fools.

It’s messy around Brandon

Last night’s strong wind left a lot of branches on the ground, and a coat of dirt on many houses and buildings.  The dirt may require power washing to remove.

Wednesday 4:54 AM

 Clouds indicate unsettled weather.

Tuesday 8:47 PM

It’s getting dark and a strong gust of wind shakes the trees and makes this house rattle.

Ten Hours Aho

We dropped off Jenny at the Airport. Ten hours later, she’s still on the page.
