I spent six hours standing outside the exit at Giant Toget in Brandon.
I saw a flock of honking migrating geese:
A sight I haven’t seen in over 20 years.
The fund raising shift was grim weather wise. It got colder and grayer as the afternoon proceeded.
I met some interesting people, both friendly and menacing. I stared down the menacing ones well, and hopefully got them to see I was both friendly and undaunted. The friendliest was this farmer from Minnedosa. I learned that he had recently finished a 25 hour stretch of harvesting. I asked him a lot of questions about his operations, his use of tech in his business, and his opinions of EVs. He gave me some great answers. He seemed an aw-schucks character out of a classic western. Meeting him was the highlight of my day.
As soon as the shift ended: Thanksgiving dinner.
Mom did a great job!
