My son and I went to see the Brandon Wheat Kings play the Moose Jaw Warriors at the Keytone Centre, aka Assiniboine Credit Union Centre. It was the first game of the season. It was the first time for my son to a live hockey game. Tony choose to get seats that were close to the ice. We were seated near the Wheat Kings bench and while having a good view of our end of the rink, the other end's view was limited by the bench blocking our view.
Tony enjoyed himself. He was impressed by the speed, the hitting, the puck rattling of the glass and the atmosphere of loud music and constant giveaways and promotions. He told me, afterward, that he enjoyed hockey more than the soccer/football matches he had seen in China.
Below are some photos I took at the game. The photo where the Wheat King players are kneeling shows where we were sitting. Tony can be seen in the photo if you look closely enough.
BTW, the Wheat King lost the game 6-4. They were down 5-1 at one point, but rallied to make the score 5-4. Their hopes of tying the game were dashed by an empty net goal.
