A Big Divide

There is a big political divide in Canada, as there is in America.

Many were saddened by the death of Charlie Kirk.  They saw him a brave cultural warrior willing to engage in debate with his opponents.

Many, on the other hand, were elated by the death, or to be fair, smug about it.  Kirk died because of the Gun violence he promoted and he was a Hitler that had to be killed.

I am trying to present the controversy.

Is there anyway to heal this divide, this rift?

Can it be healed by debate?  Or can it be dealt with by force?

Are there people of good will on both sides of the divide that can get together and make compromises?

And yet, I was talking to a gentleman online who hadn't heard about it. (Or perhaps was scared to talk about and so feigned ignorance.)

Comments welcome.
