Fairly busy for me these days.

Monday Afternoon View

It’s not good that I am taking a view photo on a Monday afternoon because it means I’m not working.

I was listening to CBC radio.  They were playing up the Jimmy Kimmel getting cancelled representing an authoritarian repression of free speech line big time.  Even bringing in some U of M prof to chime in with left wing talking points.  Truth of the matter is Jimmy Kimmel changed from a comedian to a political hack who was offending half his political audience and was losing money for his network in a fading genre of TV: late night entertainment.  They were looking for an excuse to get rid of him and his annoying political commentator schtick.  In his last show, Kimmel went too far and half of America he offended and lied about couldn’t take it anymore. Good riddance.

You can never despise the CBC enough.

Monday Morning View

About to wake up my son Tony so he can go to school.

Today, I will hopefully get through some bureaucratic hurdles.  On 小红书，Red Notes, I am trying to get my real name verification done so I can livestream on the App.  So far, my application has been rejected three times.  But it is common I have been told.  I also hope that my up-to-date translation of my Chinese Driver's License will arrive so that I can get my Manitoba Driver's License, for which I have already passed the knowledge and road test.  I still get spasms of anger at the stupidity of the latter.  As my neighbor said, any time you have to deal with the government, it is a hassle.

I will have to mow my Mom's lawn again today.  Hopefully, my son will help.  I didn't know that you had to mow the lawn once a week.  

I sent the above photo to a contact on Red Note.  They thought it was wonderful.

Riverbank Discovery Centre Grounds

 Sunday, Tony & I drove to Brandon’s Riverbank Discovery Grounds which are located in the Assiniboine River flood plain.

The best part was the pedestrian crossing over the Assiniboine River.

I never knew it existed. It was a great find.

We saw grasshoppers.

We continued along the path.

We came to this seemingly neglected pavilion.

The path lead to the automobile bridge that crosses the Assiniboine.

A nice circuit.

I have done a  two hour live stream in China.

I’ve extended my Duolingo streak.

Other things on my agenda:

— go to mass.
